Bi-Centennial Celebration of Canossa Foundress

On Saturday, September 6, after much hard work and fanfare, the Bi-Centennial celebration of the Canossa Foundress took place at the Golden Regency Restaurant in Markham. It was a successful event with a total attendance of 341 guests from the 4 schools – SMCC, SHCC, SFCC, Sacred Heart Macau. SMCC was proud to occupy 11 tables. Sr. Esther Ling and Sr. Maria Hsu came all the way from San Francisco. All the alumni were very pleased to be able to catch up with both Sisters who hold a soft spot in all our hearts. A special Mass held earlier in the day was presided by retired Bishop Lacey. The church was packed and the choir was beautiful. At the dinner function, a fundraising event resulted in approximately $1000 raised, the proceeds will be forwarded to the Canossian Head Convent in Milan, Italy. It was overall a well attended and joyous event in commemoration of this special occasion.
