Alma Mater’s 110th Anniversary Celebration in Toronto

On October 2, 2010, we celebrated our Alma Mater’s 110th Anniversary in Toronto, starting with a Mass at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 4:30pm, followed by dinner reception at the Golden Regency Restaurant in the evening.

The evening was well attended with 13 tables of alumnae and friends. We thank our past Principal, Sr. Esther Ling, being supportive as always of our activities, who came to Toronto to join us in our efforts to honour our Alma Mater.

It was an evening of good food, lively music, but above all the opportunity for the girls to reminisce about our wonderful school days and appreciate the quality education we’d received in the hands of the good Sisters of Canossa.

Alma Mater’s 110th Anniversary Celebration in Hong Kong

Four Committee members (Katherine Hauw, Theresa KoCheung, Amy Wong, Nancy Chiang) and other members from Toronto (including Founding President Rebecca Ling) attended the Banquet that took place on November 13, 2010 at the Laguna Palace Restaurant in Kowloon. The banquet was well subscribed with over 100 tables of alumnae, teachers and friends. It was a rare occasion to meet many retired teachers and classmates we may not have seen for many years. The tempo of the entire evening was extremely animated with lots of photography and conversations. In the afternoon prior to the banquet, there was an Open House at our Alma Mater premise – a very worthwhile visit down ‘Memory Lane’, both literally and figuratively.

The current Principal, Ms Catherine Wong, was also very gracious to meet the Committee members for lunch during the week before the banquet celebration, amidst her no doubt hectic schedule. It was also a great opportunity to meet the Chairwoman of the HK SMPSA, Justina Law, to learn of the hard work they’d put into organizing the Anniversary celebrations. Bravo to them again for the event’s resounding success!
